The first workshop will demonstrate the importance of the outward dimension of smart specialisation strategies (S3) and present the support offered to regions in this domain by the S3 Platform and the Interreg Europe interregional cooperation programme. Participants will discover the main results of a survey carried out by the Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) in this domain and see examples of successful interregional R&I partnerships. It will provide an opportunity for regions to learn how they can benefit from the services offered by the Interreg Europe programme on innovation policy-related issues, and the links to the S3 Platform.
